"Elect in The Son" by Robert Shank is the Other side of the coin to this question. It is the best response I have ever seen in 31 years.Usually only Calvinistic materials flood the book shelves but this is an excellent balance.Loving yet to the point. You may not agree with everything in the book but I assure you you will at least hear the other side."Test and prove all things"

While it is true that we can gain something -- a better perspective perhaps -- by studying both sides of a theological or doctrinal issue, we gain truth only by prayerful devotion to the study of Scripure itself. You learn English from the mouth of someone who speaks it. You learn spiritual truth from the mouth of the only One who speaks it -- God Himself, and He speaks it in His word, the Scriptures. --Hank

Amen brother, It is indeed the Holy Spirit that teaches us the Spiritual things of God. Primarily from reading the Scriptures but as you say, something can be gained from other readings. 1 Cor. 2:13 "which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words" John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
