1 | Why did God create time? | Bible general Archive 1 | mother_of_nine | 35368
Yeah I thought about that...God tells us about the beginning and end of all time and that alone is a big concept! It's just that we are so "stuck" in the middle...I was just playing with trying to gain some of God's perspective on time...I've never heard much discussion on the topic so I was curious...also I'm sharing a few thoughts and questions on the topic this Sunday so...I was sending the question out there.

Dear mother_of_nine: With nine children, you don't have time to read a long post, so I'll be as brief as possible :-) Of time and God: well, we know that the great I AM is eternal, and that He created all things, time as we conceive of it being one of the things of His creation. We finite creatures are oriented to finite things, temporal things, things that come and go with the passage of what we call time. God is not confined to the dimension of time or to anything else. Perhaps it is because that only in the dimension of time that human beings can find orientation and a sense of reality that God established any such entity as time. But I'm speculating; I really don't know and doubt that anyone else on earth does. Time is a subject that has occupied the thinking of the best human minds since it began. And so is eternity. But of neither do we have an entirely clear understanding. Nine children! What a blessing God's gift of precious little ones is! They are little but for such a brief time. There's that "time" thing again. But enjoy them while there is still time! --Hank
