Today, February 16, 2002 is a milestone in the life of the forum. The forum is one year old. Light one candle! --Hank

Yes, we will light a candle, Hank! And the candle will be "blown out" by the next 'big engagement' of a long series of posts on a topic that has already been presented to this Forum and has already been analyzed to the nth degree with still no resolution in plain sight of that topic. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Makarios, though I haven't a clue about what topic thou speakest whereon analysis has been performed to the nth degree, I feel predestined to ask whether you were "elected" to make this observation or did you do it of your own "free will"? Perhaps like Mary, you were just Poppins off some steam :-) So be it. It helps to do that sometimes, helps to get rid of the SuperCalvinisticArminianismic-neurosis. --Hank

Thank you, Hank! I apologize for being a little critical of the Forum lately, but its true: time away from the Forum is usually a good thing that results in a spiritual 'recharging'! Blessings to you, Makarios |

Makarios, perhaps your apology for being critical of the forum is unwarranted. My remarks, by the way, were not designed or intended to be critical of your post in any sense! On the contrary, if they have a message at all, the message is that this forum has shown a marked tendency to drag out to the point of absurdity the dogma of Calvinism and the rebuttal of non-Calvinists. Both camps are obviously firmly entrenched in their bunkers and as unyielding as iron, neither side being able to sway the other, and as a consequence no one is being fed anything except a constant repetition of the same arguments and the same rebuttals. What this endless debate produces is nothing short of boredom for those of us who are exposed day after day to the same fruitless argument and debate. I have read the Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle several times, but I don't read them EVERY day; I already know how they will turn out. At least these stories had a resolution; these debates do not. The Bible is not restricted from Genesis to Revelation to a single issue. Surely there exists somewhere on the vast Internet a web site dedicated solely to the Calvinism versus Arminianism issue. My considered opinion is that those users who wish to debate this issue to the ends of the earth without ceasing should find another place to do it and give this StudyBibleForum a break. --Hank
