Dear Judah, The genealogy of Jesus is found in Matthew concerning Joseph's side, though he was not technically Jesus' father; but it was also listed from Mary's side beginning in Luke 3:23. I don't quite understand why, but Jewish heredity is validated from the mother's side, even to this day by tradition. In any case both Mary and Joseph were descendants of David. So Jesus, in the flesh, was truly a descendant in David's line. I hope this is of some help to you. Itiswritten |
