If it were not wrong, would so many Christians be in question over it? Not one single Christian has asked if sex between married partners is ok. Normal sex is God ordained. Obviously this "abnormal sex act" is wrong and the pure mind can not accept it as ok. Note that even in the animal kingdom this is not normal. They clean themselves but do not stimulate their mate orally before the act of sex. This filthy act came from the homosexual community and it is pitiful that Christians try to sanction it. Porn sites exploit this as the most exotic along with bestiality. It is unclean and does not exemplify Christ and His Bride in any sense of the imagination. Leviticus 7:21 Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain unto the Lord, even that soul shall be cut off from his people. Leviticus 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. |

Like kalos, I'm not going to take either side of this issue of oral sex between marriage partners and for the same reason: the Bible is essentially silent on it. I will point out, however, that the mere fact, if it is indeed fact, that "so many Christians [are] in question over it" is not a valid reason to condemn it; human condemnation of an act or practice, sexual or otherwise, is not the same thing as scriptural condemnation. To describe oral sex between a married couple as a "filthy act" is mere opinion based neither on physical or scriptural proof. To equate oral sex between married couples with homosexual practices goes far afield in my judgment..... So if oral sex is an "abominable unclean thing" for married couples to engage in, what about kissing, fondling, touching the partner's genitalia, etc.? What is "normal sex" and what is taboo? If we accept the definition of "normal sex" as being coitus, then what about positions? Is there only one "normal" position for engaging in sexual intercourse, and what is the "normal" position? And are the others abnormal, or unclean, or something of the sort? These issues, it seems to me, can easily be run into the ground, can become absurd and ridiculous, and are not really issues of right or wrong but of preference, a couple's personal likes and dislikes. The real danger is proscribing the practice on the grounds that Scripture calls it sinful or wrong or filthy when in fact Scripture says no such thing. To presume that Scripture always bends to accomodate either our personal preferences or taboos is an error of thinking into which a well-known group in olden times fell. I'm speaking of the Pharisees. Let us learn a lesson from them and abandon our search for Scripture that may seem in some far-fetched manner to lend authority to our opinions that were formed from some source other than Scripture. --Hank | ||||||
