You are right. God was not lonely and he had no need of man otherwise. You are also correct in asking why, because God did have a reason for creating the heavens and the earth and everything in them and man. Rev 4:11 says, "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created." The ultimate purpose for all things is the glory of God. Rom 11:36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Ephesians 1 is one long doxology that all things are to the praise of the glory of God. Man will glorify God's great mercy in Christ in by being saved from the just wrath of God. Or man will glorify God's terrible justice in being condemned for his cruelty, sin and rebellion. The company of the redeemed, the church, will glorify God's many-sided wisdom. Eph 3:10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. Peace, in the Lamb |
