Stephen Langton divided the Bible into chapters in 1227 ... Robert Stephanus divided the verses for his Greek New Testament in 1551. You are correct ... one may read a verse, or even a chapter and miss the context. Reading the whole book may have been the author's inention ... with the expection of Psalms, which are a collection ....read the entire Psalm. I just want to know who came out with the crazy idea "We need a paragraph format"? We need it more difficult to find the verse. :) It should be manatory chapter and verse numbers must be on the left hand side of the page. :) In Christ, Darcy |

Some Bibles aren't divided into paragraphs and even exclude headings. I think paragraphs make better sense where to break ... over verses and chapters. All four are not insipred. | ||||||
