Greetings Our Eternal High Priest! "These books record every thought, word, and deed of sinful men- all recorded by divine omniscience (see also Daniel 7:10). They will provide the evidence for eternal condemnation." (The MacArthur NKJV Study Bible) "Books refers to the record of all works done in this life. Since all have sinned and fall short of God’s standard (see Rom. 3:23), the opening of these books would certainly lead to eternal sentences in the lake of fire. The Book of Life, God’s register of those who are saved (17:8), is also opened. So although no one will be judged acceptable based on works (see Eph. 2:9), many will be saved by God’s grace received by faith in Jesus Christ (see Eph. 2:8)" (Nelson's NKJV Study Bible) Only God would know the final tally of these books, since every person who ever lived would have their actions recorded in these books. Hi Brother Nolan, A question - Surely God will use His Word to judge the works of the people. The books could also refer to the books that were Holy Spirit inspired, like the books in the bible (prophetic books, laws, etc.). Use those books to measure "according to their deeds". |

Hello, I would maintain that the Book of Life is the book which the names of the Beleivers in Jesus Christ are written (see Philippians 4:3, Revelation 3:5, Revelation 13:8) I believe that we as Believers will be judged. When we die (are dead) our judgement will be different in that we will be judged not according to our sins, but according to our deeds. Those things that were done with a pure motivation to glorify God. As the scripture also states that we will be judged "according to thier deeds." |
