1 | where does it say when jesus went to hel | Rev 1:18 | TheFinalSQL | 115427 | ||
"Nowhere in the Bible is there a clear verse of Scripture to indicate that Christ TOOK BACK any keys or that Satan had possession of keys." Ok kalos, you pulled me out of "retirement" Here is the scripture being sought: NASB Hebrews 2:14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, KJV Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Praise the Lord! Norm Hebrews 2:14 is talking of spiritual death not physical. And what was that power? It was his place as an accuser, as a roaring lion seeking to steal, kill and destroy, as a deciever, and as a liar. Satan never had the true power of death, note Job chapter 1 and 2 God clearly and distinctly told Satan what he could and could not do to Job. Notice also that Satan remained obedient to God. Even Satan knows God is God. EdB |

Norm, I fully agree with you that satan has no power over us in any area of our lives other than what God gives him. I am, however, curious about how satan has the "power" of spiritual death, as you seem to say Heb. 2:14 is referring to. Perhaps I'm ignorant on this, but I thought all of us, when we are physically born into this world, are "spiritually" dead as a result of sin. Our spirit-man becomes "spiritually alive" only when we are born-again through faith in Jesus Christ's substitutionary death on Calvary. If my thinking is true, then how can satan have the power of "spiritual" death? If my thinking is NOT true, then what is "spiritual death" and when are we in that condition? I'd appreciate yours thoughts/comments. Blessings, Mrs. B in Georgia |

Satan Can and will deceive us from believing in Jesus. Many at the put of salvation do not follow through becasue they feel they are unworthy or have time, or it all a giant myth etc. How else can he be called a roaring lion seeking to steal kill and destroy. Jesus us not to fear the one that can only kill the body. Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. EdB |
