1 | Have you ever looked at Urantia Book? | Rev 19:4 | dlnash | 860
Bobmoy wrote: "Yes, you are correct about the cult aspects of the book. We are called to enjoy the wheat and throw away the chaft [sic]." I could ask where in the Bible you find that doctrine, but I'll overlook that for the moment. If the Urantia Book is suppose to be a divine revelation, then how can any of it be chaff? If you admit that some of it is chaff, then you admit that the source which revealed it is at least partially in error. How can God be in error? Further, if you admit that some of it is chaff and therefore its source is known to be error-prone, then how can you trust any of it? How do you know, for example, that it isn't wrong about the names of the 24 elders?

Well said. You are a wise man. Yes, all of The Urantia Book is valid and accurate. The problem is that there is too much information given. This information in the other three sections is information that I do not need to have to love God, love myself, love my neighbor and love my enemy. Remember the movie, The Man Who Knew Too Much. This is the problem with having too much information, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. If we are not anchored in being a servant for Jesus, we can take this information and use is for power and control. I watched a man read the Urantia Book and go insane because he had too much information. Power corrupts. This is the danger contained within The Urantia Book. So now you know the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say. Thank you for your insight. So if The Urantia Book is the scroll that Danial was told to keep sealed until the times of the end, what do we do about it? Have a good Friday.

I'm sorry, but I think I missed something somewhere. You said earlier "According to reports, the book was produced by more than 400 experts who were told to prepare questions for God regarding the need for additional knowledge and understanding in their fields of expertise. These questions were submitted. The answers came from 'out there.'" and now you feel that it is the scroll that Daniel was to seal until the times of the end?. Don't you think it's more likely that the group of 400 people concocted their own religion? I also assume that you must believe that we are in the times of the end and have been ever since the book went on sale. You also mentioned that you watched a man read the book and go insane. Did you sit and watch him read the entire 2000 pages? and Did he go insane gradually as he read or did it happen as soon as he finished the book? Sorry, I'll stick to the Bible. Matthew 7:15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." |

LOL, jg8ball, absolutely ROFL! (Though you appear to be net-literate, some other readers may not understand, so I'll translate- Laughing-Out-Loud, Rolling-On the-Floor Laughing.) I was wearied by the discussion, so didn't look again until today. Great answer, good humor! (Even if you weren't being funny.) Actually, I suspect that only a few did the concocting, and found 390 plus gullible 'experts' to give it an air of legitimacy. They are always available, the majority of them living in Hollywood or Washington D.C. Thanks for your answers from the Bible, and a good dose of logic. In Christ Jesus.
