1 | Who are the 24 elders in this verse? | Rev 19:4 | Xapis | 812
Not really from the Bible, as in the text of the Bible, but rather from the notes that accompany the Bible. However I do appreciate the input as I have wondered for many years what it meant. In my earlier days as a Christian I heard a preacher or Bible College teacher say that because they apppear in heaven just after the rapture (come up here) they are representative of the church. Also there was some mention made of 24 orders of singers that David organized. If this helps, turns on a light or brings something else to mind, my rambling has been successful, otherwise remember it is a free forum, and God be praised. Those of you who contribute are a blessing to me.
2 | Who are the 24 elders in this verse? | Rev 19:4 | kalos | 814
Hi, Xapis. Yes, my answer is really from the Bible in the sense that I do not speculate on what the Bible does not say. It's enough of a challenge to understand what the Bible does say. (On the other hand, I do quote a note from a study Bible. So I guess you and I are both right.) You're also a blessing to me. Always look forward to reading your input. My sincere thanks to you! Yours is a good answer.
3 | Who are the 24 elders in this verse? | Rev 19:4 | Xapis | 944
You know I really appreciate that aspect of your answer, no answer based upon limmited revelation. It is great that you said that and if that is what the other response was referencing then I was out of place. I hope that you understand that I run across many who don't understand the difference between the text and the notes.
4 | Who are the 24 elders in this verse? | Rev 19:4 | kalos | 952
Yes, I understand what you mean by ppl who don't understand the difference between Bible text and footnotes. To such people I say: Remember, no explanatory footnotes in any study Bible are inspired; only the text of the Bible itself is inspired of God. . . . I'll bet you also know many who don't understand the difference between opinions and facts. For example, salvation by grace through faith plus nothing is not my personal opinion. It is a fact well documented in the Bible in plain English (Eph 2:8-9; Rom 3:28, etc.). |
