Greetings again, ttomabs! Here is some more information regarding Antichrist.. "Scripture refers to Antichrist by numerous names or titles: Antichrist (1 John 2:18); the beast (Rev. 13:4); the man of lawlessness and the son of destruction (2 Thess. 2:3); Gog (Ezek. 38:2); the little horn (Dan. 7:8); an extremely powerful and ungodly king (Dan. 11:36); the destroyer and extortioner (Is. 16:4); and the head of the house of evil (Hab. 3:13). Christ speaks of Antichrist as the personified "abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (Matt. 24:15)." (1) I, however, have yet to check out some of these associations and claims. Either way, I will not hold too much judgment against one particular view of eschatology as opposed to another, unless the Scripture has clearly proven a particular stance in the wrong. Eschatological theology is by no means "concrete", except for what is written in inspired Scripture, and for the fact that our Lord will return! Blessings to you, Makarios |
