Is the mark of the beast a spiritual meaning only, as in the heart, or is it literal also?
2 | mark of the beast, spiritual or literal? | Rev 13:16 | mark d seyler | 134808
Hi Justchris, Rev 13:16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. I don't see anything in the text that indicates this is symbolic. The plain reading is detailed and specific. This is not a mark upon the heart, but is on the hand or forehead. As I read this passage, it refers to an actual, literal mark, without which you will not be able to buy or sell, and with which you will share in the wrath of God. I encourage any who will listen to read the Bible expecting to be plainly told plain truth, and to not allegorize, spiritualize, or treat as symbolic any passage unless it is presented as such. I think the mark of the beast will put on the outside what is already on the inside. Love in Christ, Mark |
