1 | God's Law vs. Man's Law | 2 John 1:6 | octoplus | 140412
Paul was talking in the context of our relationship with fellowmen which is governed by love. Remember that our Lord had summed up in Mark 12:29-31 the greatest commandment is to love God and second is to love our neighbour - men. You are quite right in that if we can practice "agape" love in our daily life, law will be fulfilled. Law is still there for those who may have wronged, but if we can pratice love (see 1 Pet 4:8) it covers multitudes of sins. we have no fear of the law because in 1 john 4:18 there is no fear in love. ... 2 | God's Law vs. Man's Law | 2 John 1:6 | Cyclist | 140509
octoplus, Praise be to the Lord our God, His love and mercy endureth forever! Liked your post! I would like to add this scripture. Rom 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Rom 13:9 For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Rom 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
