1 | "It is never done in the New Testament" | 1 John 5:14 | Radioman2 | 94092
"It is never done in the New Testament" I am not teaching that we should not pray in the name of Jesus. What I said is: 'PRAYING in the name of Jesus doesn't mean SAYING, "In the name of Jesus."' Praying '"in the name of Jesus" means something different than repeating those words.' '...you will never see a New Testament prayer that ends with the phrase "In Jesus' name. Amen," even though the same text teaches you to pray in Jesus' name. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to draw the conclusion that we are, first, to pray in the name of Jesus, and second, praying in the name of Jesus doesn't mean ending your prayer with the phrase "In the name of Jesus. Amen," because it is never done in the New Testament.' We pray the phrase, in the name of Jesus, Amen, even thou it is not listed persay in scripture because at the end of the prayers we accknowledge to God faith in his son and the word Amen, I add it to emphasise Jesus promise, Let it be done according to your faith. Just a thought.DL5
