1 | Does God love everything? | 1 John 4:8 | flinkywood | 97283
Makarios, thanks for your scripture-packed answer. Rom 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." And yet there remains a scriptural grey area, Psa 5:5 "The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity." Does God love even the worker of iniquity in the thick of his sins? The obvious answer is Paul, nee Saul, self-confessed murderer of men, women and children, and his testimony. So my view is yours, that God knows we are dust (Psa 103:14 "For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust."), and that He is "...longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3.9. The overwhelming weight of scripture points towards God's incomprehensible, self-sacrificial love of sinners and His desire that we repent and believe in His Son. I still wonder whether He can possibly love Satan. Colin. |

2 | Does God love everything? | 1 John 4:8 | Makarios | 97288
Greetings Colin, I would not say that God absolutely cannot. Ephesians 3:19 "and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." God's love surpasses all knowledge, and is beyond our comprehension. Blessings to you, Makarios |
