What do you say to a sister or brother in the faith who trys to justify their wrong by saying , "I am having an affair with my boss because my husband is unemployed and now I have to carry the weight. My cheque alone is too small to feed my household so this is what I have to do. Adultery is the law but there's also the spirit of the law that Jesus came to teach us. Rahab lied to save the spies and was blameless, so why can't I commit adultery to save myself and my family? Jesus broke the law and was also blameless so I know I'm right in His sight! humility, This individuals reasoning has more holes in it than Swiss cheese.This person is walking in dangerous territory. We cant justify choosing to continue in sin and we sure cant use scripture to excuse sin. Jesus didn't break the law he fulfilled it. The good news is we can repent and God does forgive. 1 John 1:9. Where this person says they know they're right with God.Ask for rightly divided scripture. We can't use scripture to justify our sin. It doesn't work and never will. In Him, lionheart |
