2 | What is God's love | 1 John 2:5 | EdB | 140969 | ||
The love of God is unconditional, by that I mean is not based on anything but His love for us. Greek word is Agape which contrasts to what we normally call love. We have an eros type love which is a love between a man and a women or we philo type love which is a love of a brother for another. Both of these are based something that something being; attraction, relationship, filled or preceived need or emotion. However agape love is pure love for no other reason than you love. You may want to do a word study for yourself, get yourself a good Bible word dictionary, a concordance and perhaps a book like Robertson's word picture of New Testament words. EdB |
