Well, some of the "characteristics" I'd look for is an inactive prayer life, no time spent in the Word, involvement in sinful ways of the world and no worship in their life. How do we avoid these pitfalls you say? By using prayer, the Holy Spirit, the church, and of course the Word of God. 2nd Timothy 3:16 explains the Bible equips us for every good work. Prayer is powerful as well as God promises us thigns through prayer in several verses - Matthew 7:7-11, John 6:23-27, 1st John 5:14-15. As far as the Church, God says to confess our faults to one another/James 5:16. "A threefold cord is not easily broken." - Proverbs 27:17 reminds us here that we can find strength in numbers. Good luck/God bless! |
