Hi Tim, You are right that we can accept forgiveness on faith that He is able to do all that He has said He would do. But I think that the person who has sinned, felt remorse, changed his actions and attitude, and has asked God's forgiveness; that person can know in his spirit that he is a forgiven child of God. Romans 8:16. I thought of Romans 8:6-16 when thinking of 1 John 1:9 and sins and righteousness. *He is faithful to forgive us our sins and if *Christ is in us, our spirit should feel that life and peace because of righteousness.
