Greetings Pande40569! 2 Peter 1:21 "For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit." (ASV) The Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) was written through many human authors (at least 30 to 40) over a span of at least 1,500 years. However, what is interesting is that the Greek word for "carried along" in 2 Peter 1:21 is the same as that found in Acts 27:15-17. In Acts, the sailors could not navigate the ship because of the strong wind. The ship was being 'driven' or 'carried along' by the wind. This is similar to the Holy Spirit's directing and carrying the human authors of the various books of the Bible as they penned their inspired thoughts onto papyrus. There were many 'vessels' that the Holy Spirit was able to inspire to communicate God's message to mankind, but at the same time there was one Spirit who inspired them all! Blessings to you, Makarios |
