1 | Is BAPTISM a SYMBOL? | 1 Pet 3:21 | KenM | 31785 | ||
Hi Terra, The best answer I have ever seen on the subject of Baptism is in 1 Peter 3:21; 1Pe 3:21 “ Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Clearly, Baptism is not something needed by God, but by us. Also it really important to note that Jesus thought that it is important to do; Mat 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” The next question is; what happens to those who don’t get baptized? Well, God is the one who judges each of our hearts as to the motives on why we do or not do certain things. I do recommend baptism as an adult. I have seen it act as a powerfully force in a believer life, a physical point where they can look at themselves having a new beginning. A starting point Hope this helps, 4Him |
