1 | Here's what Jesus said before he died. | 1 Pet 3:19 | Tony M | 27085 | ||
Read Luke 23:43 "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." This sounds like Jesus went to paradise, not to hell. Tony |

Hi Tony, Many translations read as follows and must be accurate. "Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise." Notice where the comma is placed. False doctrine is derived/supported by placing the comma before today. Truthfinder |

Truthfinder, In an effort to help you find the truth, please know that in the original manuscripts there no punctuation. For 2,000 years the Church has always taught that the thief Jesus spoke to on the cross would be with Him in Paradise that very day. Yours is the novel interpretation and novels as we know are fiction. Emmaus |

Hi Emmaus, Amen Emmaus. The "Church" has taught many non Bible based things. In the first century, the chief priests and other religious leaders persecuted Jesus’ followers. (John 19:15; Acts 5:27-33) As a result, it was said of Christianity: “Truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.” (Acts 28:22) It should not be surprising, therefore, that true Christianity today likewise is spoken of abusively. Yet, after examining evidence against early Christians, Gamaliel, the famous Pharisee and teacher of the Law, advised: “Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”—Acts 5:38, 39.
