1 | DOES GOD HEAR ALL PRAYERS ? | 1 Pet 3:12 | New Creature | 112847
Makarios; you said "hearing all prayers does not ensure an answer" This not an attempt to disprove or disagree with your reply. I just want to add what I once heard a pastor tell his congregation, in one of his messages. He stated; that, "God hears every prayer. But oftentimes the answer to many prayers is no. No is also an answer to prayer." Blessings New Creature |

2 | DOES GOD HEAR ALL PRAYERS ? | 1 Pet 3:12 | BradK | 112881
Makarios, I was discussing this very topic with a brother last week. You gave a good answer that I'm in general agreement with. One of the verses I brought up was John 9:31: "We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him." I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this if you'd care to comment. I've always been a little puzzled by this in light of 2 Cron. 33:12-13, etc. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

3 | DOES GOD HEAR ALL PRAYERS ? | 1 Pet 3:12 | New Creature | 112890
BradK; "We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him." My thoughts on that verse tend to lean in the following direction. Of course we know God hears the prayers of sinners, especially those that cry out to Him for salvation. I believe that, if we are out of fellowship with God and living in "willful sin" Heb 10:26 then we need to get right with God first, and be restored back to fellowship, before we can expect our prayers to be seriously considered. We get back into a position of fellowship by examining our lives, and asking God to reveal any known sin our lives, and then confess those sins to God, with a desire to turn from those sins. (see 1 John 1:7-9) I also believe other verses could be considered when trying to piece this puzzle together. Verses such as: Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear: - on that verse Adam Clarke comments - "If I regard iniquity in my heart - “If I have seen iniquity in my heart,” if I have known it was there, and encouraged it; if I pretended to be what I was not; if I loved iniquity, while I professed to pray and be sorry for my sin; the Lord, Adonai, my Prop, Stay, and Supporter, would not have heard, and I should have been left without help or support. Other verses Isa 59:2 but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear. Prov. 28:13 He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy especially check out this next verse; Micah 3:4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. These last 2 verses give indication on whose prayer is heard; Jehovah is far from the wicked; But he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Prov. 15:29 (ASV) along with; The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are open unto their cry. Psalm 34:15 (ASV) Blessings New Creature |
