Hi, Robert... The human perspective of life tends to color much of our thinking. It is difficult not to apply human characteristics to God. He reminds us that He is very different (Numbers 23:19; Job 9:32; Isaiah 46:5; 46:9; 55:8; Deuteronomy 4:15-16etc.). In theology we often refer to the "Otherness of God" when discussing how different He is from humanity. Humans use tools as a means of accomplishing their purposes. We need tools. We choose the right tool for the job, that has the characteristics we need. When the tool wears out, we seek a replacement. God makes use of tools as well; i.e., He makes use of means. However, God does not use tools because He needs to do so -- no, God does not need anything (1 Corinthians 8:4-6). Rather, He does so because that is how He chooses to carry out His eternal purpose (Job 22:2-3). By His power, He makes His tools be exactly what He wishes to accomplish His objectives (Romans 9:21-22). Consequently, swap your thinking around: Moses had strength and vitality for precisely as long as God chose to use Him.
