1 | Jacob or Joseph? | Deut 26:5 | stjohn | 198789
Hi budderfligh, It's often found in the Scripture, that the name Jacob is used as a term that means The Nation Israel in a general sense. God often does this throughout the Bible. Here are just a very few examples fond in Psalms. Ps 14:7, 22:23, 53:6, 78:5, 78:21, 78:71, 81:4, 105:10, 105:23, 114:1, Also; Num 23:7, 23:10, 23:21, 23:23 You may want to do a word search. Put the words (Jacob Israel) in the search box to the right of this page. You will see that Jacob is very often used synonymously with Israel. I hope that helped. God bless John |

2 | Jacob or Joseph? | Deut 26:5 | budderfligh | 198879
Hi John, Thank you for your response to my question. Sorry it's taken so long to say thank you. Actually, I was pretty certain that was the answer, but in this particular case the text seemed to speak so clearly of Joseph that it had me a bit confused. Again, thanks for your response. God bless and keep you also, budderfligh |
