1 | TV Show "Crossing Over" - Dead Speaks? | Deut 18:11 | Morant61 | 56226 | ||
Greetings Sandrider! I like the screen name! :-) I definitely agree with you that Edward is not communicating with the dead. If he is communicating with anything (which is unlikely), he is probably communicating with demons. You said that the Bible teaches that our minds fall asleep between death and the resurrection. Where exactly does the Bible teach that? You also said that those who believe (after the resurrection) will be filled with the Spirit. Where exactly does the Bible teach that? The falling asleep is mentioned occassionally and implied frequently in the New Testament. The term "fallen asleep" is used to describe death. The most straightforward example is John 11:11-13, "... He said to them, 'Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go, so that I may awaken him out of sleep.' The disciples then said to Him, 'Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.' Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He was speaking of literal sleep." Another good passage is 1 Corinthians 12-18. Some others are Ps. 146:4, 1 Cor. 15:6, 1 Thes. 4:14. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 tell how believers' bodies will be resurrected and live, "... It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body." I've found that http://www.bbie.org/english/ gives sound, unbiased references and support for questions like this. |
