1 | How can I walk closer to him? | Deut 18:11 | JCrichton | 129142
Hi, Tania L. Moore! I think that Doc was referring to God... as we get closer to God He comes closer to us... We must constantly be alert: studying Scripture, living Scripture, living a prayerful life! We cannot convince another person to change his/her mind about God--Jesus Himself when He offered His Body and Blood and nearly all of His followers left Him, He did not scare them into submission nor did He beg them to stay (John 6:50-69)... It is a wonderful labor, bringing others to Christ... but it is also a hard and slow labor... we must pray constantly to the Holy Spirit to enlighten us so that we may exercise all of our abilities to the task at hand... patience, love and lots and lots of understanding is required to aide others, specially when they live a doctrine that is contrary to Christ's... Share the Scriptures with your cousin... demonstrate through your loving care that Christ is the Only Way... show your cousin that only in Him (Christ) are we truly free and complete... do not argue for arguement sake... always drop a Scripture passage or two where you can demonstrate that God Loves all of us and He wishes that all be saved! There are Scriptures that you can text to your cousin that demonstrates that Jesus died for sinners (all sinners) and that there's no sin too great that God would not forgive--with the exception of rejecting God! I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless! Angel |

2 | How counteract brainwashing of lucifer? | Deut 18:11 | JumpingBum | 129143
Angel, Bless and thank you for your reply! :) This kid is quite the scholar. He reads the Bible. The trouble is that the church of lucifer has him so brainwashed that he only sees God as cruel and people who follow him as "dumb sheep". His statement of the hour (it seems) is that people follow God out of guilt and fear. I get off of IMing him and I am exhausted. I listen to my husband and others, I know this is a marathon, not a sprint and there are many, many blessings in the time I have spent with him, BUT how do I counteract all the brainwashing. He's been convinced of this life style for 10 years and has been studying it for 6. Worse yet he was just accepted into the church of lucifer! I want to go out and throttle some sense into him, but I know that what he is thinking and feeling is due entirely to fear. So I guess I'm asking, how do I counteract the brainwashing? Blessings! |

3 | How counteract brainwashing of lucifer? | Deut 18:11 | JCrichton | 129144
Hi, Tania! I’ve just logged back on... Though somewhat different, this reminds me of a personal episode I had with a childhood friend... I left New York and within months the "ole neighborhood" changed--actually the people changed. This particular friend began to sell me on the philosophy of selling drugs (people would always buy, the government and the wealthy keep the poor down, etc.)... for nearly a year I suffered his anger and stubbornness... though he never used foul language he screamed, yelled, slammed, terminated our friendship, accused me of having a superiority complex... the works! What irritated him was my refusal to condescend... I rather lose his friendship than to support any and all means to acquire wealth or power... In the darkest moments he would challenge me about God and Divine Providence and Justice... I knew that all he needed to hear from me was an exasperated "OK, do what you want to do, I understand!" But I insisted that he did not need to sell drugs even when all the people we knew from the neighborhood were doing it! One day, my persistence paid off! I loan him 150.00 to place as a deposit on a technical institute (printing industry)... a year or so later my friend was boasting about his abilities to handle all of the equipment in an industrial print shop! Your task is much greater than mine... my friend was not testing God, just me! But I believe that the procedure is the same... not once did I return his pleas unanswered; not once did I degrade him for rejecting my advise; not once did I use anger or frustration as a club to bash him about... every single time he found my friendly voice, hand, ear, advise... every single time I offered him an alternate path to choose--one that would bring him closer to self-fulfillment without the risks and traps of the drug scene! Though difficult your task is no impossible--specially since you noted that your cousin is versed in Scripture! I met a man once that wanted me to explain why a loving God would destroy or order the destruction of so many people (Old Testament and Revelation)... it was a difficult task but I pray to the Holy Spirit (many many days and nights) that I would be able to bring this person to the enlighten path of God's Love and Mercy... after a few months of heavy Bible Study he began a new life in Christ! Your first line of assault is PRAYER! Your second SCRIPTURE! Your third CONSTANCY! In prayerful love share Scripture with your cousin, teaching through example that God is a Loving and Merciful God--do not allow the emotion of the moments to burden you and rob you from your own inner peace; that peace that Christ offers us! If you need assistance searching Scripture drop a line at: JCrichtonfs1@yahoo.com. I will be more than glad to study topics and suggest Scripture to guide your cousin to the Truth! God Bless! Angel |
