Baldvin writes: "I personally live many days a week without sin . . . and i am not aware of evil in my life . . . I personally capture the wrong thougt when it comes to my mind..." Likewise the man in Luke 18 says: "I am not like other men... I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get" Luke 18:10-14 (ESV) "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. [11] The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. [12] I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.' [13] But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' [14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted." |

Baldwin, You said "I am not saying that I am perfect or never think wrong thougt, but I do my best, and that is anough for God." Good enough for GOD??? YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS is good enough for GOD???? Isaiah 64:6 says, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Sorry to tell you this, but this is how GOD regards YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. If GOD thinks your doing your best is enough, then why did CHRIST die for the sins of the world? Why would John 1:29 say, "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."? Galatians 2:16 says "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Its faith that justifies, and makes us justified in the sight of GOD. Not our righteousness. If you disagree, please clarify, and please provide scripture to back up your opinions. Good enough,.....that is a classic........ The TRUTH will MAKE you FREE. Luke |
