2 | what about | James 2:14 | Aristarchus | 58440 | ||
This sounds like a set up!! LOL j/k I do believe that tongues are beneficial and of God. I believe very strongly that they are valid for believers today. I don't believe tongues should be stressed as proof of salvation. Nor do i believe that ALL believers should be expected to exhibit the gift of tongues. 1 Cor 12:30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? i do believe that we should earnestly seek out the gifts, with a spirit of willingness and allowing God to work in us what gifts are in His will. 1 Cor 14:1 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. My belief is also that tongues, as the least of the gifts, is also the most prevalent. Just the same as we see many more one dollar bills than 1,000 dollar bills. Usually the least valuable is also the most available. However, not speaking in tongues in no way affects one's salvation. For that matter, speaking in tongues does not affect salvation. It is merely a means of edification, and praying in the perfect will of the Father. If someone doesn't have the gift of tongues then God will surely provide them with other means of edifying themselves and the body of Christ. our faith is in Him, not in a gift, other than the gift of grace.
