So why didn't God send His Son thousands of years earlier and saved Himself all the grief and heartache, putting up with the Jewish nation and their disobedience and eventually destroying their nationhood? I've got an opinion but I'd be interested in seeing your's first. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

I heard a man ask a theologian once, "Why would God go to all the trouble to create such a huge universe if it were only peopled by humans?" This I shall never forget: The theologian blinked at the man and asked, "What trouble?" |

That's a very powerful question. It makes one pause and think. But I'm convinced that just as we saw with the quick downward spiral into sin after the Fall of mankind from the Garden of Eden which lead to the Destruction of the Flood, mankind doesn't have a very track record for even understanding God. We have a much more difficult time growing and appreciating His thinking, His priorities. We're inclined to criticize the disciples and think they were so spiritually immature before the coming of the Holy Spirit. But then, look at the history of this planet since that timeframe. We've had several world wars/conflicts and continue to do the same. We're devastating our atmosphere and the plant life on this planet which helps replenish the oxygen on earth. And I don't need to remind you what we're doing to our own country. No, we have nothing to brag about. But back to the subject at hand. I think that mankind had to experience "hitting the bottom" like an alcholic. We have to understand that life here on earth without God quite often results in Hell on earth. And that's just a small sample of what Hell will be like after Judgment Day. Now that we have all this documented history of all the grief and misery produced from man's own wickedness, we finally begin to get an idea of the consequences from which Christ is rescuing us. So before that point when Christ came into the world, we wouldn't have appreciated His Gift, His Sacrifice. Now at least, most of mankind can identify and understand most of the Gospel Message without a whole lot of coaxing. Whereas in the centuries before Jesus' coming, only a very few people (even within the Jewish nation) had an inkling of appreciation for anything of a Godly nature. Now because of all of what the Jewish people went through and the Perfect Sacrifice of God's Son, the whole world has a chance to go to Heaven if we as God's children will just go out and preach the Good News. Hope this is what you were looking for. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
