You left out Elijah. Also Elisha ... who received a double portion! Elijah was so great a prophet that he appears with Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration. At least you got Moses in there, although sharing the stage with the elders. :-)

God's day to you, Doc, A minor isssue. The Bible say "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha" (2Ki 2:15) ... it doesn't say "The Spirit of the Lord/God". Having a "double portion" (vs 9) of the Holy Spirit doesn't make sense to me. One either has the Holy Spirit or not. Nonetheless, I think they had the Holy Spirit All prophets (Neh 9:30; Zec 7:12; Act 3:18; 2Pe 1:19-21). A couple of more the Bible specifies Micah (Mic 3:8) Zechariah (Zec 4:6) Searcher |

Clearly there was a difference between the ordinary prophets, like the fifty, and prophets like Elijah. Hence, Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown have this to say about the double portion: "This request was not, as is commonly supposed, for the power of working miracles exceeding the magnitude and number of his master's, nor does it mean a higher endowment of the prophetic spirit; for Elisha was neither superior to, nor perhaps equally great with, his predecessor. But the phrase, 'a double portion,' was applied to the first-born [De 21:17], and therefore Elisha's request was, simply, to be heir to the prophetic office and gifts of his master." Whatever a double portion might mean, Elijah and Elisha should be on our list.
