lonelyblue12, Hello! Cyclist here. Praise the Lord Jesus for the price that he paid for us! A debt he did not owe! There are some good postings on this scripture verse from an earlier discussion. At the top left of this page where it reads "Questions/Notes on Verse" type in Heb 6:6 and click "Go". What this verse says to me, my opinion only, is that when some one falls away, like I did once, that no matter what any one said to me to try to bring me back into repentance it had no effect. I knew the word of God more than most of them! I had tasted of the Spirit of the Lord! I'd had a wonderful experience! But I fell away. It was only through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and His use of the Word of God that I was brought back into the family of God. For I had fallen away, no doubt about it! Because I could not serve God the way that I desired, I had always wanted to be a great pastor or teacher and have the perfect God fearing wife and children that served the Lord the way that I did, I gave up and decided to live accoring to the desires of the flesh. Thankfully, Jesus loved me, and still loves me enough to draw me toward him. But no person (Christian) could bring me back to repentance. Praise you Jesus for what you have done for me! Hope this helps. Much love in Christ! Cyclist |

Most people dont believe that this verse means what is says. Israel is the prime example of this. God lead them out of egypt(the lost person)through the passover(salvation) and into the wilderness. The wilderness represents the inbetween place of where God wants to take us. Just like israel, if we harden our hearts we have the ability to die in the wilderness. The promis land is Gods best for our lives. When israel sent 12 spies to scope out the land, 10 said it was bad and 2 sid it was good. What did God do, he told them that they were going to die in the wilderness. They were still saved(passover) they just were never going to experience the very best God had to give them. When they heard this, they said,"Oh, We think we will go now." God said no! Ultimately, it was impossible to renew them again to repentance (Heb 6:6). Hebrews, James and Peter are a warning to press on like paul said"to atain the prize"to be called out and to hear those words,"well done Good and Faithful servant" |
