1 | WHO is Hebrews 6:4-11 refering to? | Heb 6:4 | MJH | 144348 | ||
I too have looked this one over and found at this time the safest place to be is that of Paul's who said the following after spending 3 chapters of the subject. Rom 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[i] knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34“Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”[j] 35“Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?”[k] 36For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." MJH |

Hi, brother MJH... As with many things, there is balance. We find that balance on topics like this by looking to all scriptures. If it were not for the wonderful love and condescension of God, there is very little we could know certainly of Him. Both the Scriptures and reason tell us that tiny humans cannot attain to the knowledge of an infinite God. Nevertheless, God has graciously and lovingly given us some revelation about Himself. Deuteronomy 29:29 expresses this balance very well. Now, we are repeatedly commanded to be good stewards of anything God gives us. For example we are called to be faithful with our wealth, seeking ways to convert it into heavenly treasure. We are instructed to use time wisely. Etc. etc. It is no different with knowledge. We ought to make the maximum use of the knowledge that God has given us to know Him better. Frankly, knowing God is what the whole thing is about. I should think that we each would be deeply and intensely eager to learn each new thing about this God with Whom we have to do. Imagine, eternity will never exhaust this delightful, soul satisfying inquiry! I have said in this forum before, I love my wife. Each day I learn something new about her, and delight in that knowledge. She and I are but finite beings. I can never know her fully, for what man can even know himself fully? But because of our love, we find great pleasure and the learning process itself. If this is all true of men and women, how much more does it apply to Christ and His bride? In Him, Doc |
