God was angry because the children of Israel took the report of the spies and refused to enter the promised land. God swore they would never enter and caused them to remain in the wilderness for 40 years until all that generation died. You can Read the story in Number 14 also it is recounted in Deuteronomy 1 asnd again in Psalm 95 and in verse 11 you see what is quoted in Hebrews 3:11. That warning now pertains to everyone today that refuses to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. EdB |
