1 | Sumission to authority? | Heb 13:17 | Searcher56 | 28665
Scripture ... Isa 7:14, John 3:16, Eph 2:8-10 ... Mommapbs, it would be very rare if any two people agree all the time. I disagree with my pastor on several issues, that are minor. I submit to him as my pastor, but, not his beliefs on the minors. If there are differences on the majors: virgin birth, belief in Him leads to life and salvation by faith and not works to name three ... then we have a problem. If his teaching isn't supported by Scripture, you need to ask him (Acts 17:11). Leaving may not be the answer ... it is how divisions in the church happen. Reslove the differences ... even agree to disagree on the minors. Above all pray alone and with him and for him. Searcher |

2 | Sumission to authority? | Heb 13:17 | serenetime | 28680
mommapbs, I agree some with the others, but my concern is what some may consider minor may not be minor to someone else. If you study in depth the scriptures there are so many deeper truths that I have never seen or heard anyone teach in a church. I have belonged to a few churches in my day. And have visited a few as well, and I consider that your question deserves concern. Not everyone is in the same place spiritually and in truth I'm sorry to say. Your need for truth and sound doctrine is valuable. Let no one tell you otherwise. Pray earnestly on this. You deserve to be where you agree with the doctrine and teaching. I do believe that you will get your answer soon, because The Father is faihful in that your sincere need for higher truth and deeper depths of the awesome word of God. I know!!!! In Titus 1:8,9,14. regarding teachers of the Word. it says, verse 8) But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Verse 9) Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort, and to convince the gainsayers (contradicters). verse 14) Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn from the truth. Regarding Studying, 1Tim.2:15, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. "Study" means in the original greek-to be diligent, labour, forwardness, earnestly. Rightly dividing- dissect (expound) correctly (the divine) message. responsibility of teachers, and Preachers Col.1:28, Whom we preach warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdon; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Warning- to put in mind, to caution or reprove, gently admonish. Wisdom- (worldly or spiritually) clear, cautious, thoughtful, sagaious. Perfect- labour, growth in moral or mental character, completeness, of full age. Your salvation, and correct teaching in the fullness of truth is IMPORTANT!! I truly would like you to keep in touch on the forum, and let me know how it's going, ok?? Love in the Truth of the Living Water, SERENETIME

Thanks Serenetime! I KNOW too that God will reveal His perfect will. The struggle is to not rush ahead of HIS timing! I REALLY want to hear from God. But there is another component to this equation, my husband , who has been deeply wounded. My prayer is that he will not react to the insensitivity of men and fully rely on God to work everything out for OUR good! I'll keep you posted as things unfold - everyday is such an awewsome adventure with the Lord!In His love, Mommapbs
