1 | QUestions on book of Genesis | Heb 11:4 | Chusarcik | 117981 | ||
My Bible group is studying Genesis. We've come across some questions: 1 Is it true the fruit on the forbidden tree was a quince? If so, what is a quince and how can we get info on it? 2. Were Adam and Eve instructed by God to do blood sacrifices or did Abel just guess that was appropriate? 3. How close was the area Saddam was captured to the garden of Eden? Thanks, Chusarcik |

Hi, Chusarcik! Not a single Biblical verse names the fruit as anything other than "knowledge of good and evil" and since the Garden of Eden was planted by God, whereas we have not an iota of knowledge of where it is, it would be extremely impossible for any one to testify to having sampled the fruit and of having first-hands knowledge of what its composition is (jest: it could taste like chicken!). There are those who keep thinking of an apple... Think about this: since Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eve (lest they ate of the fruit of life), guards, spiritual beings, were placed about the Garden to keep intruders out, and since they were the only people on earth at that time... to whom could they have discribed the fruit? Speculation is just that: an assumption of knowledge! God Bless! Angel |
