1 | The Rapture, a comming event. | Titus 2:13 | DAIRYLEADER5 | 97291
The Rapture, A comming event, pg 4. I will end this discussion here, but by no means is all the enformation contained for the rapture. We still have daniel, Zech...ect. If anyone is still enterested, let me know and I will continue.. In 1Cor. Paul writes, "Give no offence to the Jew or to the Greek, which are the church of God...:" This passage could be used alone to prove that the church has not been raptured yet, because the Church Jesus is comming after is composed of both, Jews and Greeks, which have a born again relationship with Christ. 2 Thes., 2:3, Let no man decieve you...except there be a great falling away first...which hasnt happened yet. This generally is believed to be an aposticy, verb, aphistemi., which is used 15 times, in new test. The rapture phase will occure prior to the trib, and the second 7 years after the trib. This is Bible fact and not opinion. Titus 2:13 mentions both appearances in one scripture. Dont make the mistake in confuseing the Rapture with the Glorious Apperaing, these are two seperate events. Mth 24,25, Mark 13, Luke 21, properly understood, outline prophetic passages , can be located timewise. Be fammiliar with , Dan. 9, and Zech. 14., The Balfore treaty and the parable of the fig tree havent been discussed. There are so many passages of prophecy that havent been mention yet, restoration of pure language to the Jews, abrahams restoration of all Jewish land, ect. as Ive said if there intrest, in continuing let me know., but I believe there is enough imformation to convince the hardest heart that we should be out there trying to bring the lost to Jesus before our time as gentiles are finished. Thank you for your time. DL5.

Where exactly do you read about "the rapture" these words are no where found in the New Testament much less the Bible. "The rapture" is a misconception of what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 24 where He is talking of the coming destruction of Jerusalem in 70CE
3 | The Rapture, a comming event. | Titus 2:13 | Bruce7 | 124395
My understanding is after hearing about this on a local Christian radio station is that, the idea of the "Rapture" came into being only as of about, 1967, I find this to be interesting since most if not all Ministries espouse this belief.

Greetings Bruce! It is a common statement that the doctrine of the Rapture is only a recent development theologically. Unfortunately, it simply isn't true. One can make a case for it from Scripture - even though the word 'rapture' is not used in Scripture, the concept is certainly there. Secondly, there is historical evidence from early in Church history that the concept of the rapture was taught even then by some. Here is a repost of an older post of mine on this topic. ************************************* Greetings Kalos! From the reading I have done, it seems that post-tribulationists have tried very hard to make it seem that a pre-tribulational rapture is a recent deveolopment in theology. However, there is evidence dating from between 300-600 a.d. of a pre-tribulational rapture. This evidence is found in a document called "Pseudo-Ephraem's Sermon." Here is a quote which discusses the nature of this document: ******************************************** "The word "Pseudo" (Greek for false) is a prefix attached by scholars to the name of a famous historical person or book of the Bible when one writes using that name. Pseudo-Ephraem claims that his sermon was written by Ephraem of Nisibis (306-73), considered to be the greatest figure in the history of the Syrian church. He was well-known for his poetics, rejection of rationalism, and confrontations with the heresies of Marcion, Mani, and the Arians. As a poet, exegete, and theologian, his style was similar to that of the Jewish midrashic and targumic traditions and he favored a contemplative approach to spirituality. So popular were his works that in the fifth and sixth centuries he was adopted by several Christian communities as a spiritual father and role model. His many works, some of doubtful authenticity, were soon translated from Syriac into Greek, Armenian, and Latin." (http://millennianet.com/atpro4se/ancient.html) The relevant quotation is cited below: "All the saints and elect of God are gathered together before the tribulation, which is to come, and are taken to the Lord, in order that they may not see at any time the confusion which overwhelms the world because of our sins." -Pseudo-Ephraem (c. 374-627)" ********************************************** I hope this is helpful!
