1 | Are not elders shepherds, or overseers? | 2 Tim 4:5 | greatfullydead | 86983 | ||
Who makes should make decisions in the church today, such as appointing elders, evangelists, deacons, knowing that Authority to do such is from Jesus. Thank you for your thoroughness in your previous answer. It was very helpful. My Church is at a point where they are realizing that the evangelist was making decisions as if they were apostles. Knowing this is wrong I am looking for the biblical way to make a church governing decison with the authority of Jesus being upheld. In the NT Paul had some serious weight and was able to lay down some rules for holy living. I understand these could be directly from the lord and AMEN, but I dont think that Joe evangelist should do such things, but I do think there needs to be a way to carry out the Authority of the scriptures. I see how the Elders laid there hands on Timothy, but is this where they make him an evangelist? I see how it says that they gave him a gift but I'm not sure what they are talking about. thank you much its appreciated. greatfullydead |
