3 | What do you think about Paul? | 2 Tim 3:16 | njean | 181758
Hank, I totally agree, but I was asking also about an author (other than God, of course). My most influencial was Paul. His letters are so inspiring! He was pursecued, but yet he gloried in his trials. II Corinthians 12:9. He went from a hater of Chrisitians to the most awesome Christian witness. I could only hope and pray to be used by God to be such a witness. |

4 | What do you think about Paul? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Zadok777 | 181825
What do I think about Paul......he was not one of the Apostles/Disciples; however, Peter in II Peter 3:15-16 speaks of the depth that Paul teaches. Paul's wisdom was given to him on the road to Damascus when he was struck down/called, a vessel chosen by God; he did not volunteer. If one deny's Paul, then Peter is denied also, for Peter writes Paul's credentials. Paul teaches Christianity on three levels. Romans is the first of the seven church letters/Epistles. They are the A, B, Cs of Christiantity, and they go into depth if taken on the third level. Through his letters, he teaches us doctrine, instruction, reproof, correction, truth, and so much more. His writings are God inspired, especially with knowing that he was struck down by Christ on the road to Damascus. When he came to the full conclusion, as zealous as he was, when met Christ face to face on the road to Damascus, his heart probably nearly broke when he realized that he had actually been persecuting the one that he loved so much. This is what drove Paul with such zeal to right what he had wronged. He studied at the feet of Gamaliel, one of the most intelligent scholars at this time. He spoke several languages: Hebrews, Roman, Aramaic, and Greek; and he spoke colloquial Greek or street Greek (good to know when studying his writings). In Thessalonians he addresses the return of Christ, what we are to be doing at this time, giving us the signs as to how it will be at His return, and the signs and wonders that will transpire consummating the end of this age at the seventh trump. What I think about Paul goes very deep; to experience the truth brought forth through his God inspired teachings; one who was so very blessed with wisdom to bring forth to us today to prepare us for Christ's, so very near, return.
