Greetings BugsyJim! There are many views that exist today regarding what I assume the topic of your question to be The Great Tribulation. As for tribulation in general, www.dictionary.com defines the word 'tribulation' as such: "1. grievous trouble; severe trial or suffering". In that sense of the word, we can say that we can expect tribulation in light of 2 Timothy 3:12. I believe that The Great Tribulation will be initiated at the midpoint of the seventieth week of Daniel 9. According to my point of view, this persecution is also called "the time of Jacob's trouble" (Jer. 30:7) and "the time of distress such as never occurred" by Daniel. It will begin when Antichrist gains control of Jerusalem and demands that the world worship him. But that is just my point of view. :-) Blessings to you, Makarios Source: tribulation. Dictionary.com.
