1 | Numbers within Genesis and Numbers | 2 Tim 2:15 | C Ross | 169876 | ||
The more I search the more I am confused. Each modern bible association claims “their” text as being “original”…but what is original? The NIV states that a committee was organized in the late 1960’s and an individual group established for the translation for each book of the holy Bible. Having studied the Book of Genesis, I find there being many variants for the age of certain individuals. The question(s): 1) What is the oldest collection of scripts that the NIV group used to create the story of the book of Genesis that contains the age of generations and dates of births as presented in today’s texts? 2) What copy of the Book of Numbers was used and where/how can one make access to its contents? Hi C ross, Welcome to the Forum. The best answer I could give to you is to refer you to www.netbible.org. Once there, go to "Topics" and you should be able to find a wealth of info under "Bibliology", "Text and Translation" as well as "Textual Criticism". I trust this will help, BradK |
