Scripture ... Deu 21:10-15; Lev 12:1-8; Pro 1:20, 5:1-23; 1 Cor 11:3-16, 14:34-35; 1 Tim 2:9-15 ... glmyles, greetings and welcome to the forum, Deu 21:10-15 is about taking a woman as a spoil of war ... and there were specifics. Since we don't have polygamy today, it doesn't apply. Lev 12:1-8 gives the regulation about the woman after childbirth. While some say since it is OT Law, it dosen't apply ... I wouldn't. Pro 5:1-23 describes an adulteress when we don't keep the instruction. Wisdom is also described as feminine (1:20ff). Study the first nine chapters of Proverbs. The adulteress (and wisdom) do apply today. 1 Cor 11:3-16 applies today. God has a certain order. Then, and now women want to take on roles God assigned men. Serveral of these verses have posts ... use Questions/Notes on Verse: The same is true for 1 Cor 14:34-35 and 1 Tim 2:9-15. Searcher |
