Dear Steve, Then, did Seth bear the image of God since Adam was made according to the image of God? Do you mean that before Adam's eating of the forbidden fruit, God's image was still reflected on him. However, after that, Adam beared no more of God's image but just a sinful image. Thus, Seth (since he was born after the fall) beared only the image of Adam? Thanks in advance for your elaboration Shalom Azure |

God's day to you, Azure, The Bible doesn't elaborate why Seth was in Adam's image, so I won't. "When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth" (Gen 5:3). "God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (Gen 1:27). The Bible doesn't say Eve was in image of God. "In the image" is singular "him" ... and "created" is plural "them" ... nonetheless I think Genesis 9:6 could mean both male and female. "Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man" (Gen 9:6). S |
