Hi, Claire... Note that Paul is saying that he doesn't want women to have authority over men in teaching. However, there are examples of women teaching women. Certainly women do and ought to teach young people, too. Perhaps you are mistaking this "feeling" for a call by God. How about focusing your attention on studying the Word of God. If God is calling you to be a teacher, then the greatest way to teach is to live what you teach! Learn how to dig more deeply into the Word than anyone you know. Take notes in church, listen to sermons, learn, learn, learn. Read through the Bible. Listen through the Bible on tape. Become a skilled student in order to become a skilled teacher. Also, study in school as diligently as you can. In order to teach you will need a full set of skills in language and logic. Remember, if it isn't Biblical, it won't be God causing your "feelings." Feelings need to trail knowledge. Knowledge needs to be rooted deeply in life. In Him, Doc |
