1 | Five words with my mind? | 1 Tim 1:15 | Ray | 64434
The copy of my Interlinear Greek-English New Testament, Jay P.Green, editor says for 1 Timothy 1:15, "Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief." Is this rendering with its capitalization of "Word" a good one? Is it clear to you whether the Word [Deity] or whether the word of God, the Scriptures, are spoken of here? I am not familiar with Greek enough to know what other words besides "logos" could have been chosen to denote a saying or statement. Is Paul speaking "with his mind" [with his spirit] here? 1 Cor 14:19. |

2 | Five words with my mind? | 1 Tim 1:15 | Searcher56 | 64449
Ray, Since word is something a person other than God would say, I wouldn't capitialize it. I don't think Paul is speaking with his spirit, because he is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Searcher |
