Hello Hopeful Lady, As far as I can tell, Paul did not think that they were in the end times, the Thessalonians did. 2Thes 2:2 "Not to allow your minds to be quickly unsettled or disturbed or kept excited or alarmed, whether it be by some [pretended] revelation of [the] Spirit or by word or by letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] arrived and is here." Amplified Read 2Thess 2 Actually, you should read 1Thes to see exactly what Paul told them in that first letter. This will help to better understand the reason for the second letter. "Some translations have that the day of Christ is at hand (KJV), but "The verb does not really mean to be at hand, but rather to be present." (Morris); the Thessalonians were not afraid that the day of the Lord was coming, but that they were in it." David Guzik. Who are "they" that your brother is referring to? bgg |
