Greetings TP! The basic reasons for the preference that many show to the Alexandrian text are: 1) Age: These manuscripts are much older than the copies we have from the other texts types. 2) Care: These copies were generally done by trained scribes who took great care concerning accuracy. 3) Completeness: The earlies complete NT texts that we have are from the Alexandrian family.
