'QUESTIONS FOR THE KJV-ONLY CULT 'by Gary R. Hudson '(1) Must we possess a perfectly flawless bible translation in order to call it "the word of God"? If so, how do we know "it" is perfect? If not, why do some "limit" "the word of God" to only ONE "17th Century English" translation? Where was "the word of God" prior to 1611? Did our Pilgrim Fathers have "the word of God" when they brought the GENEVA BIBLE translation with them to North America? '(2) Were the KJV translators "LIARS" for saying that "the very meanest [poorest] translation" is still "the word of God"? '(3) Do you believe that the Hebrew and Greek used for the KJV are "the word of God"? '(4) Do you believe that the Hebrew and Greek underlying the KJV can "correct" the English? '(5) Do you believe that the English of the KJV "corrects" its own Hebrew and Greek texts from which it was translated? '(6) Is ANY translation "inspired"? Is the KJV an "inspired translation"? '(7) Is the KJV "scripture"? Is IT "given by inspiration of God"? [2 Tim. 3:16] '(8) WHEN was the KJV "given by inspiration of God" - 1611... or any of the KJV major/minor revisions in 1613, 1629, 1638, 1644, 1664, 1701, 1744, 1762, 1769, and the last one in 1850? '(9) In what language did Jesus Christ...teach that the Old Testament would be preserved forever according to Matthew 5:18? '(10) Where does the Bible teach that God will perfectly preserve His Word in the form of one seventeenth-century English translation?' ____________________ www.kjvonly.org/gary/questkjv.htm 1th521 |

I can not answer All of your questions, But I can say this. With the translations we have. It is enought for us to receive the Holy Ghost. And it is the Holy Ghost that lead us into ALL Truths. Remember that the individuals in the book of Acts that recieved the Holy Ghost did not have the books of the New Testments, Yet they received the Holy Ghost. This came about thought the Preaching of the Gospel. There are no big differences in the translations of the Languages. Must of the problems comes from trying to interpret what the Word of God is saying. And this is not a problem for those with the Holy Ghost. For it is the Holy Ghost (Spirit) that interprets.

jcsav, Without trying to be curt, you offered a rather simplistic answer that ignores much. I'm not minimizing the role of the Holy Spirit as teacher, comforter, etc. But, let's be honest. In Acts they did not have the completed Canon of Scripture. We do. What God has left us with is His entire "instruction manual", so that ALL scripture is profitable for teaching, etc. Now the Holy Spirit helps us to understand (1 Cor. 2:11), but it is the completed Word of God by which we know, understand, and believe. I wouldn't be so passe on translations because there are some differences. You're correct if we go with the original text, however, few of us have the expertise to do so. The TNIV would be a prime example of a not-so-good translation (I do have a copy). Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

I, also, did not mean to minimize the New Testament. My point was that there are enough Truth in All the translations that I have read to obtain Salvation. I only meant that if one have recieved the Holy Ghost (Spirit) It warns you when you have read something that is not right (1 Cor 2:13). I will read the TNIV if I can find a copy. That, I have not read. But I have a feeling, It is not the Words translation that is the problem, but someone tried to interpret for the reader. Thank You, for your comments.
