1 | Alive and REMAIN?What choice do we have? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Morant61 | 152060 | ||
Greetings Starfire! The reason the 'and' is italicized is because it is NOT in the orginal, not because it is being emphasized. The text literally reads: "Thereafter we those who are alive those who are left behind at once with them will be caught up into clouds for a meeting in air with the Lord: and thus all times with Lord we shall be." 'Those who are alive' and 'those who are left behind' are both participles. The first is active in voice, while the second is passive in voice. The distinction being made is between living Christians and dead Christians. The dead Christians are raised from the grave in v. 16, while the living Christians are caught up to the Lord in v. 17. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Thank YOU Tim.... Oh, HOW I wish I could understand this as clearly as you do. You really helped a LOT. At first I thought it meant "remain" as in "remain true" aka "did not accept the mark" which would mean the rapture would definitely not be pre-trib. I feel better now. Maranatha! |
